1UpHealth’s platform provides an easy way for hospitals and other health providers to access health records. By using the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) data format for all uploaded files in an API based platform, both patients and providers can easily upload data from health records. FHIR is compliant with the federal regulations Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR, pronounced “fire”) is a standard describing data formats and elements (known as “resources”) and an application programming interface (API) for exchanging electronic health records (EHR).

Integrating the API with PTOYMatrix which utilizes a decentralized storage mechanism that secures and aggregates private health data across nodes, coupled with a token for data access and storage management incentivizes users to host and share data. This creates a dynamic marketplace for Health Information Exchange while the PTOYMatrix also incorporates non-electronic medical record data such as data from the internet of things (IoT), medical devices, wearables and other legacy infrastructure systems.

From 1Up Health’s API, 280 million patient records at over 10,000 healthcare facilities will become decentralized. Combining both will lead to improved ease of access to private health information for end users. The blockchain system provides a complete record of transactions and aids in patient identification and tracking across disparate files.

1upHealth CEO Ricky Sahu on the partnerships explains “We’re thrilled to be a partnering company in the health exchange marketplace, PTOYMatrix which provides security, transparency, and an infrastructure for economic transaction in the access of private health information for companies like Patientory, Inc. built on PTOYMatrix.” As a leader in Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR), creating synergy with the Patientory Association, an organization dedicated to healthcare interoperability that is equally dedicated to efficiently scaling and exchanging health data via PTOYMatrix, was a natural step for us in supporting their member organizations.”

The PTOYMatrix’s first use case, the Patientory, Inc. consumer mobile app is now featured on 1Up Health’s App Library here
